Lean Manufacturing Training Courses
Lean Manufacturing - you hear many executives telling shareholders that they are "getting lean." You hear of "Lean Six Sigma" and "Lean Manufacturing", but can you define what it means to really be Lean? The origins of Lean manufacture date back to Socrates and Plato and it is mentioned not in so many words in Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations. In modern times its roots are embedded on the works of Frederick W Taylor, Frank and Lillian Gilbreth and Henry Ford but the concept today has been heavily influenced by the developement of Quality Circles in Japan without which it would be impossible. Toyota have also made a huge contribution as have other leading Japanese manufacturers but today, Lean Manufacture is an amalgum of all of these inputs.
This is the introductory page describing a series of short courses for those who like to get their hands on the tools and techniques of lean manufacturing . With considerable role plays and group work these courses include Cycle and lead Time reduction, waste elimination in all of its forms, single minute exchange of dies (SMED), Kanban, 5S/5C, Takt Time, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Theory of Constraints, Value Stream Mapping, the 6 big losses, the 7 major wastes and much more.
